Dolphin Encounters

Dolphins are beautiful, fascinating and intelligent creatures, and among the most amazing marine mammals in the waters of the earth. The Miami Seaquarium has two wonderful programs to allow visitors to swim with the dolphins.

One of these programs is the Dolphin Odyssey, were adventurous visitors begin with in-classroom training, then eventually jump right in with the dolphins. Visitors 52 inches and taller can take this chance to get right in the water with numerous dolphins; working under the tutelage of dolphin dive specialists, such visitors will have chances to give the dolphins affectionate kisses and hugs, to dance with them, to pet them, and to generally play with these friendly mammals. Every one who puts on a wetsuit gets a chance to grab a fin, holding on to a dolphin for the best ride of their life, as the dolphin gracefully carries them across the deep pool.

The one and a half hour aquatic adventure includes 15 minutes of educational training in the classroom, followed by 30 minutes in the water, petting, feeding and getting to know the dolphins. Swimmers will get their photograph taken with a dolphin – all of this takes place in an intimate setting with a maximum of 14 participants at a time.

The next opportunity to swim with these non-fish is through Dolphin Encounter. This program takes place in shallow waters, where those less interested in actually swimming can still get up close and personal with one of these beautiful creatures. This program also begins with classroom training, where visitors learn a bit about the personalities and needs of dolphins. Then, it is out to the wading pool where participants can touch and feed the dolphins, and play with them up close and personal. The Dolphin Encounter is open to children and adult, ages 5 and up.

The Dolphin Encounter program offers a unique way of experiencing dolphins, and provides every participant with the photograph with a dolphin. This fun-filled, shallow water adventure is the perfect way for every visitor to make life long memories with the Seaquarium dolphins.
